Oh! Organics Melissa Skin Care Review

Oh! Organics make luxury organic skin care as well as soaps and candles. The products are completely natural, and they are made in Wales. I was sent the Melissa moisturiser and toner to try out.

Melissa Toner

oh! organics melissa toner

This is the 50ml full size which sells for £7.50, it comes in a spritzer type bottle which means it is great for using on the go. There is a definite scent to this product, quite floral and herby, it wasn't so strong though that I didn't want to use it. I've mainly been using this after cleansing to freshen up my skin and make sure all last traces of dirt are gone before applying the Melissa moisturiser. I find that the toner definitely means you need to apply less moisturiser. I really liked how you applied this, the spritz action meant that you got a nice even coating all over your face and it felt nice and refreshing.

Melissa Moisturiser

I received two of the sample jars, but I'd already used one before I realised I hadn't took any pictures! The moisturiser to me smells much stronger than the toner does, although after using it for a while I don't notice it as much as I first did. It's not an unpleasant scent, just something I'm not used to.

You only need to used the smallest amount to cover your face and neck, my skin is left feeling soft and smooth. The thing I like best about the Melissa moisturiser is that even though it really moisturises my skin, it doesn't look or feel even slightly greasy on my skin, you can apply makeup with worrying about it sliding off.

You can buy the Melissa range here, there is also a Rose range, lip balms, soaps and candles available and they are all handmade in Wales. You can also find Oh! Organics on Twitter.

Sunday Samples: Burt's Bees', Lolita Lempicka, Elie Saab & Klorane

I've been trying to get through some of the perfume samples that I've got, I always seem to just chuck them in a drawer and forget about them. I much prefer the little mini spray bottles of perfume to those little towelettes which seem completely pointless to me.

Burt's Bees' Nourishing Milk and Honey Body Lotion

This was a generous sized sample, I got about 4 or 5 full body uses out of it. This is the first time I've ever used anything by Burt's Bees and I liked it a lot, it was rich but not so rich it wouldn't absorb into my skin and it made my skin feel nice and moisturised. It smelt nice too, although I had sort of expected it to have a really strong honey scent, but it didn't, it reminded me of a sweet that I have completely forgotten the name of! I will defintely have a look at other products from Burt's Bees' now.

Lolita Lempicka & Elie Saab Perfume

These were both nice perfumes, and if I could afford it I would think about buying them. I was a bit annoyed with the Elie Saab sample though, I got like 1and 1/2 sprays out of it, not really enough for you to use it a few times to see if you like it enough to buy!

Klorane Soothing Eye Make-up Remover with Cornflower

This was able to remove mascara, but I preferred to use it after using my regular eye makeup remover to make sure all last traces of makeup were gone. It had a nice refreshing feeling on the skin around my eyes, if they were feeling irritated I would soak a cotton pad with it and leave it on my eyes for a few minutes which would leave them feeling soothed.

Recent Purchases - The Body Shop, Liz Earle & Organix

It's been a while since I've done a haul or collective post of what I've been buying, but I got paid last week and I treated myself to a few things so thought I'd show what I got.

The Body Shop Body Mists

the body shop pink grapefruit body mist, the body shop moringa body mist

I love these body mists from the Body Shop, the pink grapefruit one is just the most amazing scent for summer, it's so uplifting and zesty and makes me want to eat grapefruit even though I don't like it. The Moringa scent is gorgeous too, it's a lovely light floral fragrance. At £7 these are a lot more than I have paid in the past for body sprays, but they actually last a decent amount of time and they smell so nice that I think they were worth it.

The Body Shop Vitamiin C Microdermabrasion

the body shop vitamin c microdermabrasion

I needed a new face scrub and this seems to get good reviews so I thought I'd try it. My first thoughts are that it doesn't seem as scrubby as the No7 microdermabrasion scrub that I really liked, and it didn't smell as nice as the regualr vitamin c scrub which was really fruity. I will probably report back in 3-4 weeks time.

Organix Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo & Conditioner

organix renewing moroccan argan oil shampoo and conditioner

At £6.99 each these aren't the cheapest, but I used to only use Tigi and Goldwell so personally I think the price is OK. I've only used them twice so far, but I can say that they have made my hair feel sooo soft and silky. Not a fan of the shape of the bottle though, they're a bit big for my hands!

Liz Earle Skincare Essentials

liz earle cleanse & polish, liz earle instant boost skin tonic, liz earle skin repair moisturiser, liz earle sheer skin tint

Liz Earle Skincare Essentials is a monthly kit which, if I have my details right, always has 100ml Cleanse & Polish, 100ml Instant Skin Boost Tonic, your choice of skin repair moisturiser and each month there is a different extra item. For August the extra is the Sheer Skin Tint, I'd been meaning to buy it, but kept putting it off cos it isn't cheap, so when I saw this offer I instantly ordered it. I also love how Liz Earle gives free gifts with every order, I got a 50ml size of the Instant Boost Skin Tonic, which I will put aside for my hols.

What have you been buying lately, anything expensive and luxurious?! I am going to have to be a bit careful with my spending over the next few months, I just reaslised I only have 2 more pay packets before I go away in October which is kinda scary!

July Empties

I am pleased to say that July's offerings to the empties gods are a lot bigger than Junes pathetic efforts! Finished up two different brands of shampoo & conditioner which I was kinda amazed by, even though I have pretty long hair a bottle of shampoo lasts me month and months. Shouldn't really complain though, it saves me money!

Aussie Mega Shampoo

This is the one for daily use. I wasn't overly impressed with this really, my hair seemed to get greasy within 24 hours of using it, something I've never experienced before so it was pretty annoying. Like all Aussie products it smells gorgous and it did make my hair feel soft. Repurchase? No.

Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Conditioning Hair Treatment

I do like this a lot, but even though it does smell amazing and leaves my hair super soft it doesn't do much to help with frizz which is what it is supposed to treat! Repurchase? No, I prefer the original one and the one for long hair more.

Klorane Nourishing Mango Butter Shampoo

This has a really lovely scent, it lathers really well and it makes my hair feel nice and clean, but soft too. Repurchase? I probably would.

Klorane Nourishing Mango Butter Conditioner

This has more of a buttery type consistency to it than other conditioners I've used, it's not very thick but it still does a fab job of conditioning my hair. Repurchase? Probably yeah.

Betty Buff Tropical Sugar Scrub

This should have been included with my June empties actually, but I lost the tub and thought I'd thrown it out. I have already reviewd it here so I won't go in to detail, other than to say it smells gorgeous, like some exotic cocktail and every time I used it I would get cravings for Malibu & pineapple! Repurchase? Yes, but due to it having a expiry date which means I have to use it up quicker, it wouldn't be a regular purchase more of a treat.

Clarisonic Refining Skin Polish

I'd been using this as a face srcub before I read that it's actually a body scrub! Well it didn't say anywhere on the packaging that it was for the body, and I think most people associate the Clarisonic with the face so i don't feel too stupid haha! Anyway, this wasn't the worse scrub I've used but it was no where the best either, I mainly used it as a hand scrub cos it was quite a handy size for that. Repurchase? No, you can get much better scrubs for half the price.

Did you get through many empties in July?
